Count down to Christmas – 4 weeks to go!

25th Nov 2014

Hello everyone!

Stevie here, making my debut for the Ellie Kelly blog!

With Christmas fast approaching I thought it would be cool to make a Christmas themed bucket list! Here at Buttons HQ we have been planning for Christmas since before August (on the hottest day of the year we were sending emails about snowmen!) Crazy I know but it’s my favourite time of year so I don’t mind one bit. Which is why after a Christmas party meeting in London, Ellie and I headed over to Liberty’s Christmas shop for some ‘inspiration’. After a spot of lunch and a well-deserved (if I do say so myself) glass of Prosecco, we went to the fourth floor to the renowned Christmas shop! You name it, they had it. Being surrounded by decorations, gift ideas, crackers and Christmas songs, was a great way to get into the festive spirit. Especially as our first Christmas event is on the 26th November.

So as Buttons HQ fills up with Elf outfits, decorations and Christmas supplies, I thought what better to do than create a bucket list for December.

Number one on my list is to find a fab Christmas count down. Not only is this great for reminding you how little time you have left to get all the last minute presents, but it is fab for the little ones. They can see exactly how many sleeps it is until Santa arrives. Here is a link to one that I thought was particularly pretty.

Number Two Make your Christmas Present list. Something that I found very exciting was that Royal Mail are attempting to get Santa to reply to as many lists that he receives before the 6th December!! Here is the address, but of course visit this link to find out more. Below is the address for you.

Santa/Father Christmas,

Santa’s Grotto,

Reindeerland,

XM4 5HQ

Number Three Go and see some Christmas Lights! They are a great way to get into the festive spirit and take place in nearly every town.

Number Four Find a Christmas shop. With young ones I would highly recommend Harrods. Not only can you enjoy the Christmas shop they also have a fab toy shop which is very interactive. Lots to do for the little ones, as well as giving you some inspiration form gifts should you need it.

Number Five Find a fab Christmas festival to visit, like this one in Fleet (we will offering free children crafts from 4pm!)

Number Six – Create a playlist full of all the old classics to listen to whilst you are eating Christmas lunch.

Number Seven Find an outdoor ice rink. Nothing quite says Christmas like a nip in the air, mulled wine and some ice skates on one of those outdoor ice rinks that pops up out of nowhere for the festive period. List of Ice rinks in and around London.

Number Eight And most importantly!!! Visit a Santas Grotto. Young ones should not forget to tell Santa how good they have been this year and it makes for the perfect photo opportunity. Lapland UK would be the perfect place to do this and will also ensure you don’t meet any Santa’s with beards that fall off.

I hope that has given you some inspiration for festive activities in the countdown to Christmas.
