So Monday was Cake Club, yesterday Pancake Day and tomorrow Valentines. This is not a good week for my waistline!
I was really pleased with how my Passion Cake turned out. Nice and moist and full of fruity flavour. It should have been the amount of things that were squeezed in. As well as the usual cakey suspects there was coconut, banana, passion fruit, grated carrot and pineapple.
Mine was just one of 9 cakes though and we also had, Honey Cake, Red Velvet, Malteser cake, Champagne and strawberry, black forest gateau, Rose and Raspberry, chocolate and raspberry, Sasha torte & pecan and pineapple. Although I was defeated and could not try all on the night we did each take a slice home for loved ones and they all went down very well both with Mr Kelly and his work colleagues.
Our Cakey meet up was at The Farnham Maltings this time and what a great venue. Some of the bakers had not been before or even heard of it was I was delighted to be able to introduce them to something new.
I love the Maltings and don’t go nearly enough. For those who have never been it is a wonderful building in the centre of Farnham that houses crafts makers and 6 resident dance & theatre companies. It also hosts a monthly craft market, shows the latest films, has comedy nights, live bands and children shows.
If that wasn’t enough it also has short and long term workshops you can join, fitness classes and holiday events for the kids. For more info you can visit the site via this link.
Your cake sounds delicious! And what a brilliant collection of cakes, I can’t wait for the next event to join in the fun!
