Bluebellympics

14th Sep 2012

Today I wanted to share with you some photos from an Olympics party we hosted at the Bluebells holiday home in Hampshire on August 18.

Bluebells is no average holiday home – it is in fact very unique. It offers respite breaks 365 days a year to the families of children with serious, life-limiting or life-threatening medical conditions.

The house opened in July 2011 and its aim is to enable 100 families each year to spend a week or a few days in one of its two spacious self-catering apartments, free of charge.

I was invited to visit a few months ago and was really taken a back by all the amazing facilities. They have two lovely apartments, a swimming pool, music room, TV/cinema room with games and my personal favourite – a crafts room!

Bluebells was set up by The Sebastian’s Action Trust and you can read more about this amazing charity here.

The Olympics party was held in the garden, not only for the children supported by the Trust, but also for their siblings and family. From giant bubbles to relay races and face painting to medal ceremonies, myself and Stevie had a great morning with all the kids and tons of fun.
